Local environment
Ovidius University of Constanța is also defined by its location on the shores of the Black Sea, in the largest city of Dobruja and South-Eastern Romania. The Dobruja region, delimited by the Danube and the Black Sea, represents a bridge between East and West and its religious and ethnic diversity singles it out as a veritable cultural mosaic. Dobruja can in fact be considered the eastern gateway of the European Union. Dobruja is also unique due to the Black Sea coast and the Danube Delta, the second largest and best-preserved European delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. The tourist resorts on the Black Sea coast are a favorite summer destination for both Romanian and foreign tourists.
