The European University Alliance ARTEMIS organized the first edition of the EU-ARTEMIS Doctoral Day, bringing together over 120 doctoral students from partner universities
On Tuesday, May 13, 2026, the European University Alliance ARTEMIS organized the first edition of the EU-ARTEMIS Doctoral Day, an international online event dedicated to strengthening the European doctoral community and fostering academic cooperation among member universities. The event brought together more than 120 doctoral students from the alliance’s partner institutions, providing an extensive platform for exchanging experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and intercultural dialogue.
The official opening featured speeches by representatives of the ARTEMIS Alliance and its member universities, highlighting the strategic importance of this initiative for building a strong European doctoral network and for developing the future joint ARTEMIS doctoral school. The program reflected the alliance’s commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and supporting the next generation of European researchers.
The event agenda included plenary sessions and interactive activities designed to stimulate collaboration among doctoral students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds. During the “My Doctoral Day” section, participants from partner universities presented insights into their doctoral journeys within their respective institutions, emphasizing the diversity and complementarity of academic experiences across the alliance.
The event continued with collaborative challenges such as the “Lightbulb Challenge,” in which mixed international teams developed creative projects on topics related to ARTEMIS’s three strategic pillars: technology and transport, health and environment, and migration and human rights.
