The ARTEMIS European University Alliance took part in the High-Level Meeting on the European Universities Initiative, held on 26–27 February 2025 in Brussels. This event brought together representatives from European alliances and higher education institutions to reflect on the future of higher education in Europe.

On 27 February, ARTEMIS was represented by Marie-Elisabeth Baudoin, Vice-Rector of Clermont Auvergne University and General Coordinator of the Alliance, alongside Liliana Ana Tuta, Vice-Rector of Ovidius University, and Davide Dusi, Institutional Coordinator at VIVES University of Applied Sciences. The delegation attended various thematic break-out sessions dedicated to cooperation, innovation, and the development of the European Higher Education Area.

The meeting featured several key messages, including insights from Enrico Letta, President of the Jacques Delors Institute and former Prime Minister of Italy, who emphasized the strategic importance of a “fifth freedom” dedicated to research, innovation, knowledge, and education. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Beatrix Busse underlined three core values for European Universities: openness, curiosity, and empathy.

The participation of the ARTEMIS Alliance in this high-level event reflects its commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and collaborative European Higher Education Area, in line with the broader objectives of the European Universities Initiative.
